JDM VEHICLE HISTORY GUIDE

What is a JDM Auction Report?

A JDM Auction Report is designed to turn auction sheets, first-registration, export and mileage records that can be matched to a Japanese chassis number into one readable vehicle-history view. Domestic-market cars may use a model-code and serial format such as GP5-1234567 rather than a 17-character VIN.

The goal is not to present one document as a guarantee. It is to compare chassis, date and mileage information across available records and make inconsistency signals visible. The final decision should still include the chassis stamp on the car and an independent mechanical inspection.

HOW IT WILL WORK

From chassis number to a clear report

  1. 1

    Enter the chassis number

Start the vehicle match with the complete Japanese-format chassis number.

    Scan available records

Vehicle-related documents found in auction and export records are checked.

  3. 3

    Review one report

Matches, inconsistency signals and document explanations appear in one decision screen.

The service is not active yet

Document-source integration, chassis matching and report verification are in progress. No payment or report request will be accepted before launch.

COMMON SEARCH QUESTIONS

Questions about Japan vehicle history

Understand what the report is intended to show—and the limits of that evidence—before the service opens.

How will a JDM auction sheet search work?

When search opens, enter the complete Japanese-format chassis number. The system will look for matches in accessible auction and export records, then show the documents and plain-language explanations in one report.

Why might a Japanese chassis number not have 17 characters?

Some Japanese domestic-market vehicles use a shorter model-code and serial format rather than an international 17-character VIN. Match every character against the stamp on the vehicle and the original documents.

Does an auction sheet show the car’s complete history?

No. It usually records the car’s condition at a specific auction inspection. It is not a complete service history, proof of ownership or mechanical warranty, so use it with other records and an independent inspection.

Are auction grades and R / RA marks universal?

No. Grading systems and damage codes can vary by auction house. Read the grade together with that document’s legend, damage map and condition notes.

How will mileage from Japan be checked?

Dated readings in accessible auction, registration or export records will be compared. The comparison provides a consistency signal; it is not a standalone mileage guarantee.

Will every vehicle return the same documents?

No. Coverage depends on the vehicle’s age, the institutions that handled it and record availability in Japan. The report will clearly state the scope of each match.
